John regularly represents private businesses, public entities, and higher education institutions in employment and complex commercial litigation, as well as insurance coverage matters.  He handles all phases of litigation in federal and state court, and has secured successful outcomes and negotiated favorable settlements for his clients in a cost-effective manner.

In addition to his litigation experience, John counsels his clients on a variety of employment law issues, and has extensive experience drafting sophisticated agreements.  John also has co-led numerous internal investigations of alleged employee misconduct, and was seconded at a private university where he advised on litigation, contractual matters, and employment disputes.

Professional History

Prior to joining Saiber LLC, John was a Judicial Law Clerk to the Hon. Michael A. Hammer, U.S.M.J., in the United States District Court, District of New Jersey (2012-2013) and the Hon. Dorothea O'C. Wefing, Acting Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey (2011-2012).  John also served as a law clerk at Valley National Bank (2010-2011).

John is admitted to practice in the States of New Jersey and New York, as well as the District of Columbia.

Representative Matters

Acted as co-counsel successfully defending public entity in a two-week jury trial involving claims of race discrimination, hostile work environment, failure-to-promote, and violation of State constitutional rights. Successfully argued in limine and dismissal motions on multiple claims. Jury returned a no-cause verdict on plaintiff’s remaining claim.

Successfully obtained summary judgment dismissing complaint that alleged retaliation, discrimination and hostile environment against large public university.

Successfully obtained summary judgment dismissing complaint that alleged disability discrimination against large public university.

Successfully obtained dismissals of EEOC charges alleging retaliatory discharge and gender discrimination on behalf of charter school.

Successfully obtained dismissal of EEOC charge alleging national origin discrimination and hostile work environment on behalf of hospital.

Supported successful dismissal of claims alleging fraud, fraudulent transfer, and alter ego liability against individual and limited liability company at an eight-day bench trial in the Superior Court of New Jersey.

Supported successful dismissal of certain counterclaims that alleged breach of contract and breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing against medical professional liability insurance carrier in a declaratory judgment action.
