Ms. Garvey is a labor and employment attorney who represents management. She appears on behalf of employers in New York and New Jersey state and federal courts and before administrative tribunals, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York and New Jersey Departments of Labor, the New York Human Rights Commission, and the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights. She is an experienced litigator who has served as lead counsel defending corporations and higher education clients against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and breach of contract. She is experienced in all aspects of litigation through trial, appeal, and collection of judgments.

Ms. Garvey has substantial experience counseling management on a variety of workplace issues including medical leave laws, hiring, terminations (voluntary and involuntary), wage and hour compliance, restrictive covenants, restructurings, as well as employee benefits and compensation. She advises clients on issues arising under collective bargaining agreements, and concerning grievance arbitrations and union elections.

Ms. Garvey proactively minimizes her clients' risk by developing employment policies, drafting handbooks, conducting internal investigations, and providing training on employment policies. She has served as interim, in-house Assistant General Counsel to an institution of higher education where she was responsible for advising on all labor, employment, and student affairs issues.

A portion of Ms. Garvey's practice is dedicated to defending professional liability claims alleging breach of contract, fraud, and misrepresentation against licensed professionals.

Prior to joining Saiber, Ms. Garvey clerked for the Honorable Donald S. Goldman, Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division (Ret.).
