Michael Grohs concentrates his practice in the litigation of business disputes in state and federal courts.  Michael has experience representing corporate clients and individuals in a wide variety of commercial disputes and also general litigation matters in New Jersey and New York courts.

Michael also handles employment and transactional matters for his clients.  He often counsels corporate clients in matters arising in the workplace, including the hiring and firing of employees, claims of discrimination, internal investigations, company policies and employee handbooks, enforcement of confidentiality and other post-employment restrictive covenants.  Michael also has considerable experience in eDiscovery, including the use of technology assisted review tools and other computer forensics services.  For nearly 5 years Michael has served as a volunteer “Roadie” for Rock & Rawhide, a non-profit organization that aims to increase the level of adoptions and quality of life for dogs and cats in shelters and rescues.

Professional History

Prior to joining Saiber, Michael clerked for the Hon. Robert J. Passero (Ret.) – former Assignment Judge for the Passaic Vicinage of the Superior Court of New Jersey and served as a litigation associate at a mid-sized law firm based in Essex County.

Representative Matters

Represented moving and storage company and successfully settled dozens of flood insurance claims submitted by customers who sustained losses during Storm Sandy. Also obtained favorable settlement on behalf of the moving and storage company in a lawsuit against its insurance broker.

Represented major satellite television service provider and obtained a multi-million dollar judgment in a lawsuit arising out of claims of fraud and violations of federal law.

Defended and successfully negotiated favorable settlement for State agencies against ADA and Rehabilitation Act claims brought by several visually impaired employees.

Represented companies in both the prosecution and defense of emergent lawsuits involving the enforcement of confidentiality provisions and post-employment restrictive covenants.

Successfully lead and managed a large eDiscovery project involving the collection and review of millions of documents hosted on a server located overseas and subject to strict international data privacy laws.
