Gaming and Casino Law in New Jersey

Saiber has been at the forefront of the New Jersey gaming industry since our practice was established, becoming one of the first firms to work with casinos upon state’s legalization of gaming in 1978.  In recent years, Saiber has built strong reputation beyond New Jersey, regularly advising clients throughout North America and worldwide.

Our lawyers have substantial experience in all facets of gaming law, covering a range of issues confronted by our clients within the industry.  We represent casino operators, lottery companies, online gaming and technology companies, equipment manufacturers, race tracks and businesses that provide services to the industry.

We are well-versed in all areas of regulatory and compliance matters, including assisting our clients in obtaining licensing and regulatory approvals, drafting internal compliance procedures and, conducting internal investigations in connection with alleged regulatory violations.  In addition, we represent our clients before numerous regulatory agencies in connection with hearings and regulatory enforcement matters throughout North America.

Saiber has built a niche in advising online gaming operators and technology providers.  We regularly advise iGaming companies in all aspects of the law, from obtaining licenses and regulatory approvals for foreign gaming entities, to advising on general corporate and transactional matters.  Saiber attorneys regularly speak at iGaming conferences and seminars, and we are a founding member of iDEA (iDevelopment and Economic Association), an industry association which seeks to grow jobs and expand online and interactive business in the United States through advocacy and education. Since the landmark Supreme Court decision in Murphy v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, Saiber has advised numerous sports-betting businesses in their efforts to obtain the necessary approvals to operate land-based and online sportsbooks in twenty-seven states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, British Columbia, Ontario, and various tribal gaming jurisdictions.

Saiber counsels gaming businesses in a range of corporate matters, including financings, mergers & acquisitions, labor and employment matters, intellectual property matters, and when disputes arise, we represent our clients in all facets of litigation.  Our attorneys also have significant experience on the business end of the gaming industry, having held senior level in-house positions at several gaming companies.  This experience allows our attorneys to provide a unique perspective on corporate and regulatory matters, while also being sensitive of our clients’ objectives.
