On Friday, October 8th, 30 Saiber volunteers teamed with JerseyCares to help support the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in their effort to fight hunger and poverty in New Jersey. The Saiber volunteers sorted and packed an assortment of food items that will be delivered to soup kitchens, food pantries, and shelters throughout the state. In total, Saiber packed 220 boxes of food, drinks and supplies for those in need.
The Community FoodBank of New Jersey, a member of Feeding America, provides people across the state with food, help and hope. As the state's largest anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization, CFBNJ distributed enough food for more than 66 million nutritious meals last year, 22 percent of which was fresh produce.
