Since the landmark Supreme Court decision in Murphy v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, Saiber has advised numerous sports-betting businesses in their efforts to obtain the necessary approvals to operate land-based and online sportsbooks in thirty one states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, British Columbia, Ontario, and various tribal gaming jurisdictions.

Saiber navigates a myriad of gaming companies through the licensing and regulatory approval processes in jurisdictions across North America. We represent iGaming operators, land-based casinos, lottery companies, software companies, slot and iGaming manufacturers, racetracks, video terminal operators and other gaming-related businesses. The landmark 2018 decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in Murphy v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, which struck down the federal Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA), has resulted in Saiber advising sportsbetting companies in their efforts to obtain the necessary approvals to operate land-based and online sportsbooks in 31 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, British Columbia, Ontario, and various tribal gaming jurisdictions.

We provide counseling in every aspect of employment, from hiring your first employee to developing and establishing policies and procedures and complying with laws that govern multi-jurisdictional workforces.  We have expertise in the areas of employee hiring, I-9 compliance, preparation of job descriptions, employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, restrictive covenants, employee handbooks, separation agreements, employee discipline and discharge, discrimination and harassment, paid time off, workplace accommodations, leaves of absence, reductions-in-force, wage and hour issues, workplace investigations, and department of labor audits.

  • Worked closely with Senior Human Resources Leaders and General Counsel of online gaming entities in identifying and mitigating employment law-related risks
